Enhancements in CA SOI r3.2 › Event Management Enhancements
Event Management Enhancements
This release of CA SOI provides the following event management enhancements:
- Lets you test the connection for enrichment when you create an event policy with an enrichment action. You can test the following types of connections:
- Test the connection to the database.
- Test the method instantiation; for example, availability of the Java method for enrichment.
- Test the location and execution of the script; for example, availability of the script for enrichment.
- Lets you search for raw events (such as SNMP traps and application logs) and display the search results in the Operations Console Event Policies dialog. Searching for raw events lets you view events using the internal properties from their source domain manager. You can then analyze and use the raw event search results to create a normalization policy for mapping raw event properties to USM properties.
- Enhances the ability to time scope the target set of event searches down to the second. In the previous release, you could time scope your event searches to the minute.
- Supports event correlation on more than one property.
- Enhances the Event Management functionality by allowing automatic purging of the archived files when sufficient disk space is not available to store the files.
- Provides out-of-the-box event enrichment configurations for sources such as CA NSM, CA CMDB, CA Spectrum, MS SQL, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Optimizes the Event Management performance by automatically adjusting the event archiving based on the event volume and available free disk space. For example, if the event volume is high, the archiving occurs more frequently. This functionality helps you reduce the storage requirements.
- Lets you create custom event policies and view and manage them in the UI.
Note: For more information about event management enhancements, see the Event and Alert Management Best Practices Guide.
