Administrators can create custom CI user attributes that let you define users for a CI. For example, you have a CI that represents a server and you want to set the owner to a specific name. In this case, you define a CI user attribute to the owner name.
You can also set a CI user attribute by modifying the XML for a connector to create or update the CI.
You can use the CI user attributes for escalation policy, escalation policy actions, exception criteria, and as a message token. For more information about enabling and adding the CI user attributes, see the Event and Alert Management Best Practices Guide.
