Configure Processes for ServiceNow Integration
Configure the processes by which CA Process Automation communicates with CA SOI and ServiceNow. The configuration requires the CA Help Desk Integration.xml file and CA_PAM_3.1_ServiceNow_Connector_Operators.xml (in case of PAM 3.1) or CA_PAM_4.x_ServiceNow_Connector_Operators (in case of PAM 4.x) files with the CA SOI installation media.
To configure the process for CA Process Automation Version 3.1 follow these steps:
- Click CA Process Automation Client at the upper right of the CA Process Automation Console.
A JNLP application starts and the Process Automation Client displays.
- Click the Configuration Browser tab.
- Expand Default Environment in the Browser pane and double-click Orchestrator.
The Folders pane displays on the left and an empty Environment pane displays on the right.
- Right-click the root folder in the Folders pane and select Import.
- Locate the CA Help Desk Integration.xml file that is provided on the installation image at Disk1\Integrations\ITPAM-ServiceNow\ITPAM_Server_Files
- Select Set imported version as current to make the object current and click OK.
The processes are imported and the ServiceNow folder displays in the Folders pane.
- Complete Steps 4-6 to import the CA_PAM_x.x_ServiceNow_Connector_Operators.xml file, which is on the provided on the installation image at Disk1\Integrations\ITPAM-ServiceNow\ITPAM_Server_Files
The ServiceNow folder displays in the Folders pane under Custom Operators.
- Upload the ServiceNow descriptor jar (com.ca.servicenow.jar), which is provided on the installation image at Disk1\Integrations\ITPAM-ServiceNow\ITPAM_Server_Files, to CA Process Automation. For more information about uploading the descriptor jar, see the ServiceNow Connector Operators Guide.
- Select the ServiceNow folder.
The imported integration processes display in the Default Environment pane.
- Double-click the CreateTicket process and click Edit User Preferences at the bottom-left of the screen.
- Select all options except for Default to the horizontal line orientation on the Configuration, select the Palette Properties, enter 12, and click OK.
- Verify that the process displays as follows:

To configure the process for CA Process Automation Version 4.x follow these steps:
- Start CA Process Automation and select Library.
- Right-click the root library folder (/) and select Import.
- Locate the CA_PAM_x.x_ServiceNow_Connector_Operators.xml file in the folder where you extracted the CA Process Automation ServiceNow operators content, select the file, and click Open.
- (Optional) Select Set imported version as a current to make this version of the operator the current version.
- (Optional) Select Make imported Custom Operators/Sensors available to make the Operators available for the CA Process Automation processes.
- Click OK.
- Complete Steps 2-6 to import the CA Help Desk Integration.xml file that is provided s on the product package.
- Upload the ServiceNow descriptor jar to CA Process Automation. For more information about uploading the descriptor jar, see the ServiceNow Connector Operators Guide.
- Select the ServiceNow folder.
- Double-click the CreateTicket process.
- Verify that the process displays as follows:
