Download and Install the WAR Files in Liferay

In your portal, download and install the CA Service Catalog Web application archive (WAR) file. The WAR files let you configure the display and behavior of CA Service Catalog widgets in portlets by using menu options instead of source code.

Note: This procedure applies to Liferay. For detailed instructions to download and install WAR files, see your Liferay documentation. If you are using different portal software, see its documentation for instructions. However, you can use these steps for reference.

Follow these steps:

  1. Log in to Liferay.
  2. Use the download plug-in function to download the war file for the portlet you want from the CA Service Catalog computer. For each portlet, provide the location of the war file on the CA Service Catalog computer, for example:

    http://host-name:port-number/usm/FileStore/portlets/portlet-filename.war

    host-name:port-number

Specifies the host name and port number of CA Service Catalog computer that stores the widget.

    A typical value is computer-name:8080.

Important! All widgets on a page must use the same CA Service Catalog computer. If you are using a cluster, specify the computer name of the load balancer.

    portlet-filename.war

Specifies the war file for the widget you want, as follows:

    • browse.war
    • request.war
    • request-list.war
    • request-edit.war
    • status.war

Note: After you download these WAR files, they reside in the CA Service Catalog category of Liferay.

  3. On the Liferay Home page, click Add, More, Install more applications.

    The plugin installer frame appears.

  4. Select Upload file and Click Browse.
  5. Select Download File.
  6. Enter the URL path where the war files are stored.

Note: The war files are stored in the usm_home\filestore\portlets folder.

  7. Click Install to install the war files.

    A confirmation message appears.

You have successfully downloaded and installed the WAR files in Liferay.
