Add a Layout

A layout defines the presentation of multiple report elements. Create and configure layouts to obtain the format you want for reports. You can use one of several sample layouts as a starting point. You can set permissions for the layout and optionally propagate those permissions to the underlying data views and data objects.

Follow these steps:

  1. Click Administration, Report Builder.

    The Report Builder page appears, with Data Objects selected in the left menu under the main menu.

  2. Select Layouts in the left menu.

    The existing layout folders appear.

  3. Click Create New Layout.

    The Edit Custom Report Layout page appears.

  4. Click one of the following to add the new element you want to the layout:

    The new object appears in the layout background.

  5. Drag the object to the location you want on the layout.

    The object appears in the new location.

  6. Configure the properties of the object by clicking the properties (i) icon and completing the fields.

    The properties change to match your specifications.

  7. Set the permissions for the layout, as follows:
    1. Click Permissions.

      The Set Permissions dialog appears.

    2. Set the access levels according to role, business unit, and CA EEM user groups, as applicable.
    3. Click OK.

      The Set Permissions dialog closes. You return to the Edit Custom Report Layout page.

  8. Click Save and specify a status, one of the following:
    Created

    Specifies that the layout is visible only to the user who created it (the creator). No other user is permitted to view the layout, regardless of the permissions set for it. This option enables the creator to complete it before anyone else can access it.

    Available

    Specifies that the layout is visible to the owner and to any user who is granted permissions to it.

  9. Continue editing the layout as needed; save it periodically and when you are finished. Exit the Edit Custom Report Layout page by clicking Cancel.
