Important! Read and understand the scope and limitations of the upgrade before performing the upgrade!
The scope and limitations of the upgrade are as follows:
Important! If this option applies, contact Technical Support to obtain the CA Service Catalog r12.5 installation media, including its documentation. Follow the instructions in the Implementation Guide and Release Notes carefully to perform this upgrade.
You cannot upgrade from one DBMS to another. For example, you cannot upgrade a CA Service Catalog r12.5 installation running SQL Server to a CA Service Catalog 12.6 installation running Oracle.
For example, suppose Computer A has Service View r12.5, CA Service Catalog r12.5, and Catalog Content r12.5 installed. When you upgrade Computer A, you upgrade only those components to Release 12.6; you cannot install a new component, such as CA Service Accounting 12.6, on Computer A. Instead, install CA Service Accounting 12.6 on a computer that has no existing CA Service Catalog r12.5 components already installed.
Note: If you upgraded from CA Service Catalog r11.2 to CA Service Catalog r12.5 immediately before you upgrade to CA Service Catalog 12.6, be sure to read and follow all information and instructions regarding features removed in CA Service Catalog r12, especially Unicenter Service Meter. For details, see the CA Service Catalog r12 documentation, especially the Implementation Guide and Release Notes. As a precaution, the MDB retains data related to Unicenter Service Meter in case it can be used by other CA products that include Unicenter Service Meter.
