VCE Vblock Provisioning Support

CA Server Automation Release 12.7 supports VCE Vblock integration to manage one or more Vblock servers, using the UIM 3.0 API for the EMC Ionix Unified Infrastructure Manager (UIM).

Before you configure CA Server Automation, create UIM Service Offerings using the UIM FlexUI (under Administration) and Mark Available. UIM/P consoles (FlexUI) also are required for Vblock discovery and to decommission a service. In addition, the UIM 3.0 API does not support Vblock resource configuration.

On the CA Server Automation user interface, use the Administration, Configuration, VCE Vblock page to establish a connection with one or more VCE Vblock UIM servers. Once the connection is established, add a Vblock AIM instance to the bottom pane on the same page. CA Server Automation automatically configures the selected AIM with the connection data of the VCE Vblock UIM servers. Then CA Server Automation initially discovers the VCE Vblock UIM servers and populates the database with the discovered data.

The discovered VCE Vblock resources and available operations reside on the Resources, Explore tree in the CA Server Automation user interface. From the Explore tree, Vblock services can be discovered, planned, provisioned, and managed.
