ZAP$010E Cataloged volume <volser> does not reside on a DASD device

The volser found in the catalog for the requested data set name does not reference a DASD device.

ZAP$011E OBTAIN FMT-4 DSCB failed for volume <volser>

The OBTAIN macro failed for the indicated volser.

ZAP$012E ZAP VSAM dataset not possible - reqd SVC services not available

The SYSVIEW SVC must be correctly installed and available to ZAP a VSAM data set.

The requested data set has no allocated extents. ZAP is not possible. This will occur when the data set name is a model DSCB.

The VERIFY option of the WRITE command failed for the indicated reason. The actual writing of data was not attempted.

The CCHHR data contained in a count field does not match the physical CCHHR of the record.

ZAP$021E Parameter found where none allowed: <errordata>

One or more parameters were specified on a command where none were allowed.

The command entered is invalid for the type of data displayed.

A ZAP INDEX command was entered for a volser which is not indexed.

A ZAP INDEX command was entered but ZAP was unable to determine the data set name of the VTOC index.

ZAP$025E Member name invalid - Dataset is not a PDS

A member name was specified with a data set which is not a PDS.

ZAP$026E ZAP of a specific member within a PDSE is not supported

ZAP does not currently support zapping a specific member of a PDSE.

ZAP$027E Member <mbr> not found

The indicated member was not found in the directory of the requested data set.

ZAP$028E Unable to determine member extent

ZAP was not able to determine the extents for the requested member.

ZAP$029E Member has no extents

The requested member has no extents. It is an empty member.

ZAP$030E Invalid length - <errordata>

An invalid length parameter was specified.

ZAP$031E <cmnd> command invalid for "<screentitle>" screen

The requested command is not valid for the current ZAP allocation type

ZAP$032E Invalid <cmnd> syntax

The syntax of the indicated command was not correctly specified.

ZAP$033E Invalid <FORWARD|BACKWARD> amount - <errordata>

The numeric amount specified on the indicated command is not valid.

ZAP$034E Invalid <FORWARD|BACKWARD> type - <errordata>

The type of units specified on the indicated command is not valid.

ZAP$035E <FORWARD|BACKWARD> <type> invalid when <alloctype> allocated

The type of units specified on the indicated command is not valid for the current type of allocation.

ZAP$036W <cmnd> command terminated by ATTN

The indicated command was terminated prematurely by hitting the ATTN (or PA1) key.

A volser parameter cannot be specified for the indicated special dsname keyword.

The supplied data set name is cataloged to more than 1 volume. ZAP does not support multi-volume data sets. Retry the command specifying the same data set name and a single specific volser to bypass the multi-volume restriction.

An invalid offset parameter was specified.

Indirect addressing is only valid when a data record is currently displayed.

The EOF command cannot write an EOF record at the current address. An EOF record can only be written at the address of an existing record or a record beyond the last record on a track.

ZAP$066E Unexpected error in TRKCALC service

The EOF command failed due to an unexpected error in the TRKCALC service.

ZAP$067E EOF record will not fit on track at current address

The EOF command cannot write an EOF record at the current address because it will not fit.

ZAP$068E CSECT <sectnam> has no text - <errordata>

The indicated CSECT cannot be zapped because either it has a zero length or it contains no text (it is all DS instructions).

ZAP$070A Data record has been altered. Enter WRITE, RESTORE, or CANCEL

When the PROMPT option is in effect and the current record has been altered and a command has been issued which would result in losing those alterations, this message is sent to prompt you to confirm your intention to ignore the changes you made.

ZAP$071I <START|END> of <alloctype> <RECORDS|TRACKS|CYLINDERS|EXTENTS>

The FORWARD or BACKWARD command has reached the start or end of the allocated records, tracks, cylinders, or extents.

ZAP$072I <var1> <var2> records started

Informational only.

When a FORWARD or BACKWARD command is issued specifying more that one thousand records, this message is produced every thousand records to measure the progress of the command.

The indicated command is not available because the data set or volume could not be opened for update.

ZAP$078E <cmnd> unavailable - Update access denied by <sectype> security

The indicated command is not available because update access has been denied by either internal security or by some external security package.

ZAP$079A Data record altered. Re-enter <cmd> command to ignore alteration

When the PROMPT option is in effect and the current record has been altered and a command has been issued which would result in losing those alterations, this message is sent to prompt you to confirm your intention to ignore the changes you made. Reenter the same command and it will be executed.

ZAP$080W No previous search argument available

The FIND or SEARCH command has been issued without an argument string and no previous argument string is available for use.

ZAP$081E Invalid hex chars in search argument

A FIND or SEARCH command implicitly or explicitly specified a hex search argument but the string did not contain valid hex characters.

ZAP$082I <string> found at offset <offst>

A FIND or SEARCH command was successful and found the string at the indicated offset in the displayed record.

ZAP$083I <string> not found

A FIND or SEARCH command was unsuccessful. The FIND command has searched the entire displayed record without finding a match and the SEARCH command has searched all allocated records without finding a match.

ZAP$084I SEARCHLIMIT exceeded. Enter SEARCH with no parms to continue

The SEARCH command has searched the number of records specified for the SEARCHLIMIT keyword of the OPTIONS subcommand of the ZAP command and has not found a match. The search is suspended and last record searched is displayed. The search can be continued from that point by reentering the SEARCH command without any parameters.

ZAP$085I SEARCH terminated by ATTN. Enter SEARCH with no parms to continue

The SEARCH command has been suspended because you hit the ATTN or PA1 key. The last record searched is displayed. You may continue the search by entering the SEARCH command without any parameters.

ZAP$086I End of data reached

The end of data has been reached without finding a match for the FIND or SEARCH argument string. Because the search did not start at the beginning of the data, not all data has been searched. Entering the FIND or SEARCH command with no parameters will repeat the search, starting at the beginning of data. If the end of data is reached again the string is considered not found and message ZAP$083 is displayed. The FIND command wraps at the end of the displayed record. The SEARCH command wraps at the end of the allocated extents.

ZAP$087I SEARCH in progress - <recnum> records searched
ZAP$088E <cmnd> invalid when record ALTERED and OPTION OLDDATA is in effect

A FIND or SEARCH command is not valid when the current record has been altered and the OLDDATA option is in effect. Use the OPTION NOOLDDATA command to clear the OLDDATA option or the RESTORE command to restore the altered record and then retry the FIND or SEARCH command.
