A shared system image specifies the operations policies required by your organization for the managed resources that may move from system to system. It consists of a system image definition and a number of resource definitions.
After you implement your local system images, you can create a shared system image for resources that may become active on any one of the systems managed by linked regions. Typically, these resources are already defined in the local images through express setup, and you can move them to the shared image.
Note: You can also use the Auto Populate Facility to add resource definitions to a shared image. However, if a conflict occurs because of resource duplication in an active local image and an active shared image, the region will manage the resource by using the definition in the shared image. The resource in the local image will be removed from the status monitor.
