Create an Initial Local System Image Using the Express Setup Facility

The simplest way to create a local system image is to use the Express Setup Facility.

To create an initial local system image using the Express Setup Facility

  1. Enter /RADMIN.AD.E from any panel to access the Express Setup Facility.

    The Confirm Express Setup panel appears. The following panel shows an example:

     SOLVPROD--------- Automation Services : Confirm Express Setup ----------------- Command ===> EXPRESS SETUP .-----------------------------------------------------------------------------. | This facility will automatically find your installation’s resources and | | define them in the database. | | | | The resources are discovered using JES display commands and are placed in a | | newly created System Image. The Control Member defines which resources are | | to be loaded and their start-up hierarchy. | | You can elect to have the system image loaded as the ’active image’ when | | Express Setup has completed by typing YES next to Load Image?. | ’-----------------------------------------------------------------------------’ Express Setup will use the following parameters: System Image .............. SOLV Version ............ 0001 Control Member ............ $RMEXPR1 Load Image? ............... NO Press the Action key to confirm the request or the Exit key to cancel F1=Help F2=Split F3=Exit F6=Action F9=Swap

  2. Complete the fields on the panel. After you complete the fields, press F6 (Action) to start express setup.

    The Express Setup Status panel appears. The panel shows the progress of the setup task.

    You can monitor the progress of the setup task, or you can exit the panel to perform other functions. Note the task number if you want to exit the panel. If you exit the panel, a broadcast message notifies you when the setup task ends.
