System Images

A system image contains the definitions of the managed resources. This product provides the following types of system images:

Local system image

Contains the definitions of the managed resources on the current system.

Shared system image

Contains the definitions of the managed resources that move from system to system.

Sysplex system image

Contains the definitions of the managed resources for the sysplex that contains the current system.

z/VM system image

Contains the definitions of the managed resources on a z/VM system. You use these images with CA Mainframe Connector for Linux on System z. This type of system image is available only if you include the Linux Management feature in the region.
