Verify Settings for 64-Bit Windows Server 2008 Systems
On 64-bit Windows Server 2008 systems, verify the following:
- Verify that the installation account has has full permissions (read, write and execute) for the applicationHost.conf file (located in C:\Program Files\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config).
- Verify that Network Services permission is set in the file properties for SmHost.conf.
- Verify that Windows Authentication is installed and enabled. By default only Anonymous Authentication is installed.
SOA Security Manager resource protection is performed if Anonymous Authentication is enabled and Windows Authentication is disabled or both Anonymous and Windows Authentication are enabled. If Windows authentication is enabled and Anonymous authentication is disabled, resource protection will not be possible.
