Install and Configure Workpoint Components on AIX/WebSphere

The Workpoint Business Process Management (BPM) solution lets you implement ticket-based workflows in the portal. CA RCM uses two Workpoint components: the Workpoint server and the Workpoint Designer client.

The Workpoint server application is installed on the WebSphere Application Server in a clustered configuration. This provides message queues and other recovery features, and simplifies later expansion.

The Workpoint Designer client is installed on a Windows computer. You must install additional utilities and configure the Designer client to communicate with the Workpoint server cluster on WebSphere.

Perform these procedures after you run the CA RCM server installer package on a Windows computer. The installer generates .ear files that are used to install the Workpoint server and Ticket Management utility on WebSphere. These files are placed in the /rcm_websphere folder under the CA RCM installation directory.
