Integrated Activity and Usage Information
With this release, CA RCM integrates with CA Enterprise Log Manager and CA Identity Manager to support the following business cases:
- Resource activity investigation–administrators can review complementary account and resource level usage information associated with a certain identity.
- Certification decisions–reviewers see usage information for privileges under review.
- Verify violations of business policy–usage data confirm whether a logical business policy rule has been violated.
To support these business cases, new functionality is available:
- CA RCM can poll CA Enterprise Log Manager for usage data and display this data in certification reviews and information screens. For example, when you certify user access to a resource you can see how often the user accesses the resource. The connection to CA Enterprise Log Manager is dynamic: reviewers can click on a flagged entity to open an event log drawn live from CA Enterprise Log Manager.
- CA RCM now handles account-level information imported from CA Identity Manager, CA Enterprise Log Manager , and external provisioning endpoints. This account-level information is correlated to users in the CA RCM data universe, and is used to poll the CA Enterprise Log Manager database for usage information.
Activity and usage information can be enabled for individual CA RCM data universes. When you work with a universe that includes usage and account data, this information is displayed in the following portal screens:
- Certification campaign tickets
- Entity browser screens
- Business Policy and business process rule screens
- Validation screens in self-service processes
Activity levels are indicated by configurable icons. Users can click these icons to open an event viewer window with more detailed usage information for a specific entity.
Note: For more information, see the Portal User Guide.
