Install JIAM SDK and TEWS Stubs

The connector uses the JIAM SDK and CA Identity Manager TEWS stubs to implement the data link. Deposit these customized packages locally on the system that runs the CA RCM Client Tools.

Note: Only use this procedure when you work with CA Identity Manager r12.0 or later. When you work with CA Identity Manager r8.1 SP2, use a different procedure to generate and install these packages.

To install JIAM SDK and TEWS stubs

  1. Copy the Identity-Manager-Components.zip file from the CA RCM installation package to the computer on which the CA RCM client applications are installed.
  2. Unzip the file.

A new folder named \Identity-Manager-Components is created. Files are deposited in this folder.

  3. Open this new folder. Unzip the following archive file:
    imps-jiam-windows-r12-CR8-091004.zip

A new folder named \SDK is created. Files are deposited in this folder.

  4. Browse to the following new folder:
    \SDK\JIAMSDK

  5. Run the setup.exe file.

The CA Identity Manager Installer window appears.

Note: If another version of the JIAM SDK exists on this computer, the installer identifies it and prompts you to upgrade.

  6. Complete the installer.

The installer runs the customized installation package.

  7. Browse to the following folder:
    C:\Program Files\CA\Identity Manager\JIAM SDK\lib

Note: If you specified another pathname when you ran the SDK installer, browse to the folder you specified.

  8. Copy all the files in this folder to the following folder:
    RCM_install\Client Tools\Software\Converters\CA\lib

Note: RCM_install is the CA RCM installation directory.

  9. Browse to the following folder:
    \Identity-Manager-Components

  10. Unzip the following archive file:
    tews_build_m16_1.zip

A new folder named \tews_build_m16_1 is created. Files are deposited in this folder.

  11. Open this new folder. Copy all the files in this folder to the following folder:
    RCM_install\Client Tools\Software\Converters\CA\lib

Note: This directory is the same directory to which you copied the JIAM SDK files.

Install JIAM SDK and TEWS Stubs for CA Identity Manager r8.1 SP2

The JIAM and TEWS files supplied with CA RCM support CA Identity Manager r12.0 or later only. When you work with CA Identity Manager r8.1 SP2 do not use these files. Instead, use the following procedure to generate JIAM and TEWS files on the target CA Identity Manager operating environment, and copy these files to CA RCM.

To install JIAM SDK and TEWS stubs for CA Identity Manager r8.1 SP2

  1. Contact the administrator of the target CA Identity Manager instance for SDK support.

The JIAM .jar files and TEWS stubs you receive contain configuration information specific to the target CA Identity Manager instance.

  2. Copy the JIAM .jar files and TEWS stubs to the computer on which the CA RCM client applications are installed, under the following directory:
    RCM_install\Client Tools\Software\Converters\CA\lib

Note: RCM_install is the CA RCM installation directory.

  3. Copy the Identity-Manager-Components.zip file from the CA RCM installation package to the computer on which the CA RCM client applications are installed.
  4. Unzip the file.

A new folder named \Identity-Manager-Components is created. Files are deposited in this folder.

  5. Open this new folder. Unzip the following archive file:
    tews_build_m16_1.zip

A new folder named \tews_build_m16_1 is created. Files are deposited in this folder.

  6. Open this new folder. Copy all the files in this folder except the Tews6.jar file to the following folder:
    RCM_install\Client Tools\Software\Converters\CA\lib

Note: This directory is the same directory to which you copied the JIAM SDK files.
