CA RCM uses Workpoint business process tools to model and implement workflows such as role-review campaigns. A library of predefined Workpoint processes is installed with CA RCM and used to implement campaigns and other CA RCM functions. This chapter describes how you can modify these workflows.
Note: Before you attempt to modify workflow processes, you need working knowledge of Workpoint, and experience constructing workflows using the Workpoint Designer. For more information, see your Workpoint product documentation.
Important! The changes you make must preserve the function and sequence of the standard CA RCM workflow processes. For example, you can add a node that interacts with external reporting or other services, but you cannot eliminate or change existing nodes or their sequential flow.
To customize a Workpoint process, perform the following steps.
Your custom process can call external processes or services that you create, or use the web services exposed by CA RCM. For example, CA RCM implements a ticket queue that runs on the CA RCM server. Customized nodes can call ticket queue processes to prompt users for information or track user tasks.
