Match Weighted Attributes to Imported Configuration Files

In this release, CA RCM user and resource entities can have an unlimited number of attribute fields. Any of these attribute fields may be used as statistical weighting factors for audit processes.

The default CA RCM audit properties file provides placeholders for 12 weighting factors. When you import a configuration file that has more than 12 attributes, you must define additional weighting factors in the audit properties file.

To match weighted attributes to imported configuration files

  1. Determine the number of attributes in the configuration file you import.
  2. In the CA RCM portal, click Administration, Settings, Audit Property Settings.

    The Audit Properties page appears.

  3. Click Browse. Navigate to the following folder of the Windows computer on which you ran the CA RCM installer:
  4. Copy the default-parameters.properties file and rename the copy.
  5. Select the copy and click Open.

The file is saved to the CA RCM database. The file appears in the list of audit properties files.

  6. Click Edit beside the audit properties file you created.

The Edit Audit Properties screen appears.

Placeholder properties for weighting attributes have the following format:

    evaluation.weight.field.n

    Note: n is a number between 1 and 12.

  7. Add more placeholder properties to match the number of attributes in the configuration file you import. Use the same naming convention, and increment the value of n in each property name.
  8. Click Done.

Changes are saved to the properties file.

  9. From the main menu, click Administration, Settings, Universe Settings.

    The Universe Settings screen appears.

  10. Click Edit beside the target universe for the imported configuration.

    The Edit Universe screen appears.

  11. In the Audit settings file field, specify the audit properties file you modified and click Save.

The target universe uses the audit properties file with additional weighting factors.
