Install Data Aggregator in Silent Mode

You can install Data Aggregator silently. Generate a response file when you install Data Aggregator using the installation wizard. The response file can then be used for subsequent installations in silent mode.

Follow these steps:

  1. Modify the response file as needed.
  2. Log in to the computer where you plan to install Data Aggregator either as the root user or the sudo user.
  3. Copy the installation package to the /tmp folder.
  4. Change permissions for the installation file by typing the following command:
    chmod a+x installDA.bin
    
  5. To run a silent installation using the response file that you created previously, do one of the following steps:

    Data Aggregator is installed silently. No message appears to show the result of the installation in silent mode.

  6. Verify that the installation was successful by reviewing the information in the CA_Infrastructure_Management_Data_Aggregator_Install_timestamp.log file. This log file is located in the directory where you installed Data Aggregator, for example, /opt/IMDataAggregator/Logs.
  7. (New installations) Register Data Aggregator as a data source in CA Performance Center.

    Note: For more information about registering a data source, see the CA Performance Center Administrator Guide.

  8. Wait a few minutes for Data Aggregator to synchronize automatically with CA Performance Center.

    Alternatively, you can manually synchronize CA Performance Center and Data Aggregator if you do not want to wait for the automatic synchronization to occur.

    Note: The installer restarts Data Aggregator automatically when the installation is complete.
