If you have defined at least one custom group, a list of groups becomes available in the Inventory.
The Group list shows you all available group types, with a brief description of each. Custom groups are also included in the list. For more information, see Types of Groups and System Groups.
You can drill down directly from the Groups list in the Inventory into filtered data. When you click one of the group types in the list, you can see data relevant to the managed items in the groups of that type. For example, if you click the link for the Interfaces group, a Group context page opens with information about the interfaces in your Interfaces group.
Site list views include any custom site groups that you have created. Site groups are custom groups that are based on physical locations, such as a city, region, office, or campus. Typically, site groups contain items and subgroups of items that are grouped by location. Adding site groups to other custom groups in your tree structure allows you to build geographically and logically organized reports. Site groups enable business-hour filtering of dashboard views.
You can customize the site list views to display only the custom site groups in a certain level of the group hierarchy. A filtered site list view clearly shows the relationship of the currently selected group to other groups in the hierarchy.
When you drill down from an item in one of the Sites list views, you see multiple context pages with data from that site context.
