The list of Device Components in the Inventory includes multiple component types. Each device component is associated with a device in the Inventory.
Device components are discovered and monitored by Data Aggregator. A device component of a selected device is only monitored if its associated metric family is monitored on that device. Devices whose components are monitored include CBQoS, MPLS, and VMWare devices.
You can drill down from data for a specific device into data from a device component to isolate problems while troubleshooting.
The Device Component List provides the following information about each device component in the list:
Identifies the device. If an administrator defined an alias for the device item, the alias is displayed. Otherwise, the discovered device name is displayed.
Identifies the device component and may include other information, such as the type of CBQoS policy.
Is the device associated with the device component.
Identifies the type of the device component.
Identifies the IP domain with which the IP address is associated. Multi-tenant environments only.
