The Average CPU Utilization Trend view shows you a trend chart of average CPU utilization values from the indicated device. If available, events are shown as flags to indicate the time events were reported.
This view displays the calculated baseline average. The way the baseline is calculated varies by the registered data source. This view also displays a projection of the average values for time periods of one week or more.
By default, the Average CPU Utilization Trend view includes the following information:
Identifies the device whose data is reflected in the view. If an administrator defined an alias for the device item, the alias is displayed. Otherwise, the discovered device name is displayed.
Is the average level of CPU usage on the indicated device, as a percentage of all available CPU time in the reporting interval.
Projects the trend in future CPU utilization levels, based on the average CPU utilization data (the average percentage of all available CPU time that was in use during the reporting interval).
You can change several settings for a trend chart view. In addition to providing a new title, you can show or hide some of the trend lines and select another managed item context for the data. Trend views support the Zoom feature for time frame selection.
Follow these steps:
The view Settings dialog opens.
Note: Not all trend line options are available for all trend chart types.
Goal lines serve as visual indicators of fixed metric values. For example, select a value within range of a critical threshold so that you can determine at a glance whether performance is approaching a degraded level.
Default: 5 minutes. Select a one-minute, ten-minute, or 15-minute resolution.
Data from the new item will be shown in the view.
Note: The availability of these options depends on your user account role rights.
The view is refreshed to reflect your updates.
