Top Disk Utilization

The Top Disk Utilization view shows the server partitions with the highest average amount of disk utilization. The 10 server partitions with the highest utilization percentage in use during a selected time frame are shown by default.

This view is useful to help you track usage levels on critical servers. Disk utilization is only one factor among many that affect server performance. For example, the server also needs high-performing CPUs, adequate memory, and disk drives with adequate speed.

Click the name of an item to see more data from that item.

In addition to utilization, the Top Disk Utilization view provides information to identify each partition. By default, it includes the following information:

Device Name

Identifies the server that was the source of the performance data. If an administrator defined an alias for the device item, the alias is displayed. Otherwise, the discovered device name is displayed.

Description

Identifies the drive and label and may include other vendor-specific information, such as serial number.

Name

Identifies the disk partition whose utilization is reported.

Average Percent Used

Is an average usage percentage calculated by dividing the count of storage used by the storage size. Should be below 80%.
