Multitrend views are customizable views that let you combine trend data from multiple interfaces in a single line trend chart. You can compare the data from up to 12 interfaces in a single multitrend view.
Use multitrend views to understand performance metric trends within a device or group of managed items. For example, you can compare the utilization trends for ten interfaces on a card by adding their trend metrics to a single view. A different-colored line in the line trend chart represents each interface.
Note: Each time 12 interfaces are included in a trend chart, a new chart is created on a separate multitrend view "page". A limit of ten pages is enforced.
Interface Utilization represents the average amount of data that is transmitted by the interface in a single direction (In or Out), divided by the interface bandwidth, or capacity. By default, interface utilization is expressed in this view as a percentage. Change the Metric Value parameter to see utilization rate or volume metrics.
The interface utilization percentage metric is calculated from average data because an instantaneous reading of individual interface utilization is either 100% (actively transmitting or receiving a frame) or 0% (not actively transmitting/receiving a frame). The average utilization percentage value includes the amount of time that the interface was in use over the given interval.
