Mailboxes
CA SDM provides a default mailbox that connects to the mail server, and which requires additional configuration such as setting values for hostname, user name, password, and so on.
Some of the ways that you can define a mailbox to handle inbound mail are as follows:
- Configure a mailbox to use either the POP3 or IMAP protocol.
- Create multiple mailboxes to let individual tenants or organizations have different mailboxes, with separate behaviors for each one.
- Use mailbox rules to filter messages and set specific behavior, define automatic replies, and set specific actions (for example, to update tickets), based on the contents or properties of the message.
- Use mailbox rules to supply Text API defaults and establish email interfaces with other software. You can configure parameters (such as category, assignee, and so on) specifically for the interface.
- Use notification phrases in mailbox rules to create common elements for automatic replies across multiple rules.
- Use mailbox policies to help protect against mail-based abuse.
