Disallow Temporary Email Addresses

By default, users cannot send manual activity notifications to temporary email addresses. For example, analysts cannot send email to an address that is not associated with a contact record. Administrators install the notification_allow_temp_address option to allow temporary email addresses. If the option is installed and you want to disallow manual notifications to temporary email addresses, you can uninstall the option.

Note: Temporary email addresses use SMTP email addresses and the Preferred Method notification method.

To disallow temporary email addresses

  1. On the Administration tab, browse to Options Manager, Notifications.

    The Options List appears.

  2. Click notification_allow_temp_address.

The notification_allow_temp_address Options Detail page appears.

  3. Click Edit.

The notification_allow_temp_address Update Options page appears.

  4. Click Deinstall.

The notification_allow_temp_address Options Detail page appears.

  5. Click Close Window.
  6. Restart the CA SDM server.

The option is uninstalled and temporary email addresses are now disallowed for manual activity notifications.
