Run pdm_edit.pl on a UNIX Server

You can run pdm_edit.pl on a UNIX server. You must have a primary server installation and, optionally, a secondary server installed and configured for all relevant CA SDM documents.

Note: Run pdm_edit.pl on the primary server only. For more information about secondary servers running the web interface, see the Implementation Guide.

To run pdm_edit.pl on a UNIX server

  1. From the command line on the primary server, change to the following location:
    $NX_ROOT/samples/pdmconf directory.

  2. Issue the following command:
    ‘$NX_ROOT/bin/pdm_perl pdm_edit.pl’

CA SDM’s pdm_perl executable runs the pdm_edit.pl script. A series of text-based menu selections and prompts let you add, modify, or delete the object managers, webdirectors, and web engines, and then, save the changes or additions into a pdm_startup.dat and pdm_startup.rmt files on the primary server.
