ADDRESS OPSDYNAM Compared to TSO ALLOCATE

Using ADDRESS OPSDYNAM provides the following advantages over TSO ALLOCATE:

• OPSDYNAM does not require the TSO TMP. It can be executed in a batch program or in a CA OPS/MVS TOD, SCR, or REQ rule.
• Execution speed improves five to ten times in an OPS/REXX program using OPSDYNAM.
• OPSDYNAM gives you more control over the output message generation, including REXX/CLIST variable return values.
• OPSDYNAM works in TSO/E as a REXX function.
• OPSDYNAM supports GDG relative generation numbers in user selectable mode (GDGLOCATE keyword).
