Name Routers

You can change the default router names that appear in the NFA console to make corrections or to make the names more meaningful. By default, the router name is the router IP address. For example, you could rename a router to match its geographical location or to indicate its device type.

Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Active Interfaces page:
    1. Select Administration from the NFA console menu.

      The Administration page opens.

    2. Select Interfaces: Physical & Virtual from the Administration menu.

The Active Interfaces page opens, which lists the current routers and their active interfaces.

  2. Select the check box next a single router that you want to rename.
  3. Click Edit.

    The Edit Router dialog opens.

  4. Enter the new router name in the Name box.
  5. Cick Save.

The Edit Router dialog closes. The Active Interfaces page shows the new router name.

Note: To restore the default name for a selected router, click Reset in the Edit Router dialog. The Reset link is visible only when you select a router that has been renamed.
