System Commands

You can enter system commands by using the Operator Console Services (OCS) or the Command Entry panel.

To access the OCS panel, enter O on the Primary Menu. To obtain a list of all system commands, operands, and brief descriptions, press F1 (Help).

To access the Command Entry panel, enter CMD.

Messages are displayed as a result of the commands. To scroll through the messages, use the appropriate function keys. The following table provides examples of system commands.

Displays or modifies a user profile

Displays the current signed on users

Operating System Commands

You can enter operating system commands in CA NetMaster.

To enter these commands, prefix them with SYSCMD. Responses are returned to the issuing environment, for example, the OCS window.

Example: Operating System Command

For the operating system command D J,NM1, enter SYSCMD D J,NM1.

VTAM Commands

You can simplify the entering of VTAM commands for tasks associated with managing your network environment. For example, you can enter D NM1 to issue the D NET,ID=NM1 VTAM command.

The following simplified commands are available:

ACT

Activates a VTAM node.

D

Displays a specific VTAM resource.

F

Issues a VTAM modify (F) command.

FORCE

Inactivates a VTAM network node forcibly.

INACT

Inactivates a VTAM network node.

NOTRACE

Terminates a VTAM network trace.

REPLY

Issues a VTAM REPLY command.

TRACE

Initiates a VTAM network trace.

V

Issues a VTAM VARY command.
