Display Frame Relay Physical Lines and Their Subports

NCPView lets you monitor frame relay physical lines on a 3745/3746-900 communications controller and the subports for each physical line. The Frame Relay Diagnostics Menu provides functions that list physical lines, display physical line details, and list the subports for a physical line.

This menu contains the following options:

LP - List Frame Relay Physical Relay Diagnostics

Displays the frame-relay physical lines on the specified 3745/3746-900 communications controller.

BP - Browse Frame Relay Physical Line Details

Displays information about the specified frame relay physical line on the NCP.

LS - List Subports for a Frame Relay Physical Line

Displays a list of subports and their basic details for the specified physical line on the NCP.

Access Frame Relay Diagnostics Menu

To access the Frame Relay Diagnostics Menu

1. Enter FR at the command prompt on the NCP : Adapter Diagnostics menu for that NCP.

   The NCPView : Frame Relay Diagnostics menu appears for the specified NCP.

List Frame Relay Physical Lines

You can list frame relay physical lines and obtain basic information about all the frame relay physical lines on a 3745/3746-900 communications controller.

To list frame relay physical lines

1. Enter LP at the command prompt on the Frame Relay Diagnostics menu.

   Note: To filter the display, you can enter the line name for the physical line details that you want.

   The NCPView : Frame Relay Physical Line List displays.

   Note: For information about the fields displayed and actions available on this panel, press F1 (Help).

Display Details About Physical Lines

You can display detailed information about a frame relay physical line.

To display details about physical lines

1. Type BP at the command prompt on the Frame Relay Diagnostics menu and enter the Line Name for the physical line details that you want.

   The first of three pages of detailed information appears.

2. Press F8 (Forward) to scroll through the information.

   Note: For information about the fields displayed on this panel, press F1 (Help).

List Subports for a Physical Line

To list basic details about subports (DLCIs) currently attached to a frame relay physical line

1. Type LS at the command prompt on the Frame Relay Diagnostics menu and enter the Line Name for the physical line details that you want.

   The NCPView : Frame Relay Subport List appears.

   Note: For information about the fields displayed and actions available on this panel, press F1 (Help).

Display Terminating Equipment or Switching Equipment Details

You can display details about logical lines associated with DLCIs attached to a frame relay physical line.

The details vary depending on whether the DLCI is for a terminating equipment subport or a switching equipment subport.

Display Frame Relay Terminating Equipment Details

To display frame relay terminating equipment details

1. Enter S or B (Browse) on the Frame Relay Subport List next to one of the following DLCIs:
   • A terminating equipment subport (TESP)
   • A peripheral node TESP (PNTESP)
   • A subarea subport (SATESP)

   The first of three NCPView : Frame Relay Terminating Equipment Details panels display. The panels provide information about the logical line associated with a particular TESP DLCI (including PNTESP and SATESP).

Display Frame Relay Switching Equipment Details

To display frame relay switching equipment details

1. Enter S or B (Browse) on the Frame Relay Subport List next to a DLCI that is a switching equipment subport.

   The first of three NCPView : Frame Relay Switching Equipment Details panels display. The panels provide information about the logical line associated with a particular FHSP DLCI.
