CA SOLVE:FTS presents as consistent an interface to the user as possible, regardless of the operating system under which it is executing.
Because file transmission may involve the movement of files between different operating systems, the information required when a transmission definition is being created or modified varies slightly according the system you are using.
The system type noted against the FROM panels indicates the panel that is presented when logged onto that type of system.
The system type noted against the TO panels indicates the panel that is displayed when transmitting to that type of system. Therefore, a user creating a transmission definition from CA SOLVE:FTS on a z/OS system, which is to transmit a file to CA SOLVE:FTS executing on a VM system, is presented with a z/OS FROM data set definition panel and a VM TO data set panel.
