Shut Down or Restart the Appliance
Applies to CA6000 and CA6300 appliances
Always shut down the Vertica metrics database before shutting down or restarting the appliance. When shutting down or restarting the appliance from:
- The Multi-Port Monitor web interface

- Shut down the Vertica metrics database:
- Click Administration to open the Administration page.
- Click Database Status to open the Database Status page.
- Click Stop to stop the Metrics database.
- Shut down or restart the appliance:
- Click System Setup to open the System Setup page.
- Click Machine Settings to open the Machine Settings page.
- Click System Shutdown/Restart.
- Click an option:
- Shut down the computer. Select this option to turn off the appliance. You must have physical access to the appliance to turn it back on.
- Restart the computer. Select this option to turn off the appliance and then restart it. The Vertica metrics database start automatically when you restart the appliance.
- The command line

Run the following commands:
- Stop the Vertica metrics database.
sudo /opt/NetQoS/scripts/doVerticaCmd.sh --shutdown
- Shut down or restart the appliance.
To shut down the appliance:
sudo /sbin/shutdown -h now
To restart the appliance:
sudo /sbin/shutdown -r now
