Using the VMPROOF Feature

The VMPROOF feature performs two important functions for verifying the proper DASD control file operation:

Identify configuration errors that might cause failure of reserve/release processing.
Simulate control file I/O to test reserve/release processing between two or more systems.

VMPROOF can run in any IBM supported release of z/VM. VMPROOF can be used on a z/VM system, along with MIMPROOF on a z/OS system, to verify that a control file shared between VM and z/OS is being properly serialized.
