5.2.3.3.3 SVTCIP Usage Considerations

Up to 32 channels can be defined.  Channels can be defined or
installed but not actually enabled. Data element Channel
Interface Enabled, CICPE, can be used to determine channel
status.

If channel was enabled during the interval, CICPE has a value
of one (1).  At higher timespans, CICPE indicates the number
of intervals the channel was enabled.  In addition, data
element Type of Link (CIPTOL) indicates the type of channel,
whether it services the host or the real tape drives.
