10.1.3 Change Active Time-spans for an Element

The active time-spans for an element can be altered by
updating the element NAME or NAMX statement in the SRLGENIN
member of sharedprefix.MICS.PARMS. An element can be turned
off completely and thereby removed from the CA MICS System
Reliability Analyzer. This can be a useful way to reduce the
size of your data base. Be very careful when altering the
active time-spans for an element, because it is possible to
eliminate data from higher time-spans (the element will
become a missing value) if only the DETAIL or DAYS time-span
is inactivated. After the change is made to the NAME or NAMX
statement, you must run SRLCGEN.

Follow the steps in Checklist 1 in Section 10.1.7 to
complete this task.

See Section 4.2.4.3 of the System Modification Guide for more
information about these statements.
