10.4 Testing Modifications to the Analyzer

When you test modifications to the CA MICS Space Analyzer,
you must do so in either a test unit or a test complex. If
the modification requires a component generation (VCACGEN) to
implement, use a test complex. Use a test unit if creating a
test complex is not feasible or if the change does not
require an VCACGEN to implement.

To test modifications, follow the steps below:

1. Make as few changes as possible. The simpler the change,
the easier the comparison of "before" and "after"
    results.

2. Run the proper generation job(s) as required and as
    described in other sections.

3. Run update job(s) as required and as described in other
    sections.

4. Validate the data by comparing numbers of observations,
relevant elements, and selected observations in the
    "before" and "after" runs.
