5.2.2 VSAM Data Set Allocation File (VCA_VS)

The VSAM Data Set Allocation File describes the attributes,
allocation, and current status for each VSAM data set in the
installation.

This file is derived from data collected by the DASD Space
Collector (VCC).  One observation is built for each key range
for each VSAM object, data or index, on each volume selected
for processing.  If a VSAM object, data or index, resides on
more than one volume, or has more than one key range, then
that data set will have more than one observation in the
file.
