5.2.9 NPDA Statistical File (SNTNSF)

The NPDA Statistical File (SNTNSF) quantifies, by failing
resource name and type, the total network traffic and number
of temporary errors for network resources and
channel-attached resources.

The file is derived from the NetView Hardware Monitor
External Log record, the NPDA Report record, or the CA
NetMaster NEWS SMF record.

Statistics for LAN resources are excluded from this file.
They are written to the NPDA LAN File (SNTLNF), which
contains all NPDA data for LAN resources.

NPDA statistics that accompany generic events (events that
are logged to SMF at the same time as generic events) and
that are for non-LAN resources are excluded from the NPDA
Statistical file. These statistics are written to the NPDA
Generic Alert File (SNTGAF).

The following sections describe the file's organization, list
the data elements maintained, and provide usage hints.
