8.1 CA MICS Accounting and Chargeback Interface
Chargeback for network resources is provided through an
interface to CA MICS Accounting and Chargeback. You may use
data in CA MICS Network Analyzer files as the basis for
network charging for character traffic, connect time, number
of sessions, and response events. Special features, as
described in Chapter 6 of this guide, permit differential
charging based on service factors or configuration
parameters.
This section of the chapter briefly discusses why network
chargeback is important and how setting rates for network
charges may vary depending upon the structural philosophy of
the enterprise. It also includes the table of billable
elements listing your choices for the network measurements
that may be billed using this interface. Finally, there is a
section on special considerations that you should evaluate
before you make the decision to implement the basic network
accounting interface. The following topics are discussed:
1 - Chargeback Considerations
2 - Billable Elements
3 - Network Accounting Considerations
