7.3.1.11 DELETEMS and DEFAULT DELETEMS Statements
DELETEMS
--------
This statement is optional and appropriate ONLY for data
produced by CA NetSpy. This statement only applies if BOTH of
the following conditions are true:
o You want the Analyzer to process data from the CA NetSpy
VTAM interface.
o Data is collected in conjunction with a multiple session
manager application that supports the CA NetSpy multiple
session manager interface.
The DELETEMS statement has the following format:
DELETEMS nnn
where: nnn is either YES or NO. Specifying DELETEMS YES
causes CA MICS Network Analyzer to delete
observations in the SNTNSS file for sessions
between the terminal and the multiple session
manager applications used by the site, thus
eliminating potentially redundant data.
You must include a separate DELETEMS YES statement
for each CA NetSpy host (identified by NETWRKID
and ORGSYSID) on which a multiple session manager
application resides.
DEFAULT DELETEMS
----------------
This optional statement is used to specify a default value
for DELETEMS. The value defined with this keyword applies to
every NSPY implicit/explicit DATA SOURCES option defined
within the network, although it can be overridden by
explicitly coding DELETEMS YES or DELETEMS NO for a specific
system.
The DEFAULT DELETEMS statement has the following format:
DEFAULT DELETEMS nnn
where: nnn is either YES or NO. Specifying DEFAULT
DELETEMS YES causes CA MICS Network Analyzer to
delete observations in the SNTNSS file for
sessions between the terminal and the multiple
session manager application used by the site, thus
eliminating potentially redundant data.
GENERAL NOTES FOR THESE STATEMENTS
----------------------------------
Chapter 6 describes these data redundancy considerations, the
operation of this Network Analyzer feature, and important
issues you should be aware of when invoking this feature.
Review Chapter 6 carefully since use of this feature may
result in eliminating data that is meaningful to you for
network analysis.
