5.4.10 UDP Statistics File (TCPUDI)
The UDP Statistics (TCPUDI) file quantifies User Datagram
Protocol (UDP) statistics. The UDP is defined to make
available a datagram mode of packet-switched computer
communication in the environment of an interconnected set of
computer networks. It assumes that IP is used as the
underlying protocol.
UDP provides a way for application programs to send message
to other programs with a minimum of protocol mechanism. It is
transaction oriented, delivery and duplicate protection are
not guaranteed. Programs requiring reliable delivery of data
should use TCP.
This file is derived from UDP statistics section of the SMF
record type 119 subtype 5 (TCP/IP Statistics record).
The following sections describe the file's organization, list
the data elements maintained, and provide usage hints.
