Appendix A: MESSAGES

Messages

This appendix lists all messages generated by the CA MICS
Capacity Planner. Most messages are caused by various
conditions in the data. The messages are listed in ascending
numerical sequence and include the full text of the message,
the type, the reason for the message, the action you should
take, and applicable document references.

Four type codes are used to categorize the messages:

l. Information: A note which documents a CA MICS Capacity
                  Planner option or potentially important
                  feature in the data.

2. Warning: A condition of either the data or the
control statements which does not affect
the CA MICS Capacity Planner's operation,
but which may lead to unexpected results.

3. Error: An indication that a problem has been
encountered with a control statement which
will prevent a successful run of the
component. Execution is stopped after all
                  control statements are processed.

4. Termination: An indication that a critical problem has
been encountered with the data which
                  requires the component to terminate
                  processing immediately.

The message texts often include references to information
contained in a control statement or values of variables from
temporary CA MICS Capacity Planner work files. In these
cases, the message text will contain a string in double
quotes, indicating that a value will be substituted into the
text at execution time. For example, message CAP00031 reads:

NO DATA FOR "ELEMENT". SYSID="SYSID" ZONE="ZONE"
