13. RESOURCE COMPONENT ANALYSIS


A new facility has been added to the CA MICS Capacity Planner
that will analyze the effects of a series of numeric data
values upon a client specified Analysis or dependent element,
and then quantify those effects.  This is an exploratory data
analysis tool and can be used in selecting data elements for
later use in resource forecasting operations.

This new facility can be executed in two different modes: one
using any CA MICS file as input, and the other, using a CAP
database as input.  Although there are differences in how the
facility is invoked between each mode, the internal
processing is the same in both cases.
