7.3 Standard Output

Univariate Model Forecasting produces analysis reports and,
optionally, an update to a Capacity Planning forecast file.

The Model Analysis Report gives a summary of the regression
analysis. This report includes key regression statistics,
such as the r-squared, F, and p. It also includes estimates
for the coefficients of the least squares line.

The Residual Analysis Report analyzes the residuals which
occur when the model is fit to the historical data, and shows
the future predicted values of the series. This report
includes a printed graph of the residuals to allow for quick
visual judgment of the fit of the model.

Optionally, Q&R formatted CSV files can be created that
contain both the historical (actual) and forecasted values of
the data element chosen for analysis. This data can be
subsequently downloaded to a PC workstation and used for
additional analysis and presentation using the CA MICS Q&R
product.

After the regression model is executed, you can optionally
store the predicted values of the model's dependent variable
in a capacity planning forecast file. This allows you to use
the presentation graphics programs described in Chapter 4 to
develop a graph of both the historical and forecast data.

The reports are presented in the following order:

 1 - Model Analysis Report
 2 - Residual Analysis Report
 3 - R-Square Ranking Report
4 - Updating the Capacity Planning Database
5 - CSV Creation for CA MICS Q&R Reporting
