2.4.6.4.3 Global Data Selection Panel

If you enter Y (Yes) in the Specify global data selection
exit field, the Global Data Selection Panel, which is shown
in Figure 2-126, is displayed. This panel allows you to enter
SAS statements that will perform special data selection
functions in addition to the normal DATE/HOUR/ZONE option on
the main inquiry panel.

As we discussed in the technique tutorial (see Section
2.4.6.2), the I/O Analysis inquiry merges the RMF data from
multiple systems by assuming that all of an installation's
volume serial numbers are unique.  In the event that this
assumption is invalid for your installation, you will have to
specify a global data selection exit.

To illustrate the use of this exit, consider an installation
that is comprised of two processors, SYSA and SYSB.  Although
most of the volume serial numbers in the installation are
unique, the system resident volumes of each of the systems
are named SYSRES.  To prevent the inquiry from assuming that
the two unique SYSRES packs are only one shared volume, you
would code the exit as is shown below.
