This chapter provides information about the installation of
the CA MICS Analyzer Option for VM/CMS and should be used by
the system administrator as a detailed reference in
conjunction with the PIOM.
This chapter shows you how to complete the required
definitions for installing the CA MICS Analyzer Option for
VM/CMS as part of the CA MICS installation process.
Installing CA MICS requires both of the following:
o Gaining the necessary understanding of your site and its
needs
o Translating that understanding into CA MICS parameters
This chapter will lead you through the parameter
specifications required for installing the Analyzer. You must
do the following:
o Arrive at a number of policy decisions
o Fill out several worksheets
o Translate the worksheet entries into the corresponding
CA MICS parameter library member entries
The focus of this chapter is on the considerations that are
unique to the CA MICS Analyzer Option for VM/CMS. Chapters 2
and 3 of the PIOM document the mechanics of the CA MICS
installation process and include checklists that describe
each installation step.
