10.1.1 Add or Delete a Data Source for a System
A data source is a type of data that will be processed for a
given system. The data sources include MON and ACT. A data
source is added for a system when the system is initially
added to the unit; when the system is migrated from VM to
z/VM; or when the system was initially set up for only one
data source and it is necessary to add another (for example,
initially set up for account data and later added monitor
data).
When modifying both VMCOPS and INPUTVMC, the changes to
prefix.MICS.PARMS must be made to both members before any
jobs are run.
___ 1. Modify prefix.MICS.PARMS(VMCOPS)
___ 2. Modify prefix.MICS.PARMS(INPUTVMC)
___ 3. Submit prefix.MICS.CNTL(VMCPGEN)
___ 4. If VMCPGEN completes successfully (check MICSLOG for
message VMC00098 indicating successful completion),
continue with step 5; otherwise, correct the errors
and continue with step 3.
___ 5. Update prefix.MICS.PARMS(JCLGENU) so that it contains
the single line:
DAILY
___ 6. Submit prefix.MICS.CNTL(JCLGENU) to implement the
changes and create a new DAILY job stream.
