5.3.11.3 VMXVXU and VMX_VU Usage Considerations

Special considerations or techniques for using the VMXVXU and
VMX_VU Files are listed below:

o The VMXVXU File contains one observation per VMDBK for
each userid that is monitored by sample data collection.
If a virtual machine is a MP (has more than one VMDBK)
data for each VMDBK must be summed to obtain total
   resource use for the interval.

o The VMX_VU File contains one observation for each
interaction that is initiated by a userid that is
monitored for event data collection. If a virtual machine
is a MP (has more than one VMDBK) an observation will be
produced only for the VMDBK that participated in the
   interaction.

o The VMXVXT and VMXVXU Files can be merged for analysis of
interaction and wait states in conjunction with activity
data. The elements USER, VMXCPUAD, and VMCINTTS should be
used in the BY list to accomplish the merge.

o The VMX_VT and VMX_VU Files can be merged for analysis of
resource consumption by interaction. The elements USER,
VMXCPUAD and VXUPRXTS should be used in the BY list to
   accomplish the merge.
