5. FILES

Solely for discussion in this chapter, the files created by
the VM Data Transfer Program are broadly categorized as
input, intermediate, and output files.  Input files are VM
raw data files.  Intermediate files are those on the VM side
of the transfer process which are formatted from input files
for transmission to MVS.  Output files are MVS files as
received on the MVS side.  Figure 5-1 illustrates the file
processing of the VM Data Transfer Program.
