General Commands

Command

Description

ABORT

Stops one or more running jobs.

COPY

Creates a new job, copying the settings for an existing job.

CREATE

Creates a new job or a Special Day Class.

DELETE

Deletes one or more jobs or a Special Day Class from the database. This is a management command when used to delete a Special Day Class.

HELP

Displays the Help screens for the DCL interface.

HOLD

Puts one or more jobs on hold.

MODIFY

Modifies one or more existing jobs or a Special Day Class.

RELEASE

Takes one or more jobs off hold.

RUN

Runs the specified jobs, regardless of conditions such as job dependencies.

SCRIPT JOB

Creates a command procedure capable of recreating the specified job or jobs.

SET JOB

Lets you change the number and frequency of attempts to run a job. You can also override or reset job dependencies for a job. Can be used with EXECUTE privilege. (Requires WRITE for DELETE).

SET RESTART_VALUE

Specifies at what point in a job to restart the job, if a system problem occurs. See also SET JOB /RESTART_VALUE in the CA Job Management

SHOW CPU_RATING

Displays the CPU (VUPS) rating of the system.

SHOW DEFAULT

Shows the default Job Management Manager node for a local or remote OpenVMS Cluster.

SHOW DELETES

Shows the number of jobs deleted from the job database since its last compression.

SHOW DEPENDENCIES

Creates a text file that represents a picture of a job’s dependency structure.

SHOW FISCAL_YEAR

Displays the fiscal calendar.

SHOW HISTORY

Displays information about the execution histories of jobs in a given log file.

SHOW JOBS

Displays information about the specified jobs.

SHOW JOBS/PROCESS

Displays process-related information for currently running local jobs.

SHOW JOBS/SYMBOLS

Creates a symbol for each job characteristic for the specified job.

SHOW LOAD_BALANCE

Shows whether the load-balancing feature for a local or remote OpenVMS Cluster is on or off.

SHOW LOGGING

Shows the current events being logged for a specific node, all nodes in an OpenVMS Cluster, or remote nodes of a network.

SHOW MAX_JOBS

Shows the maximum number of jobs that can run simultaneously for a specific node, all nodes in an OpenVMS Cluster, or remote nodes of a network.

SHOW NAMES

Displays all the group and/or type names that a user currently has assigned for jobs.

SHOW PRIORITY

Shows the default run-time priority setting for a specific node, all nodes in an OpenVMS Cluster, or remote nodes of a network.

SHOW SCHEDULED_RUNS

Predicts future execution schedules for jobs based on their historical run data.

SHOW SD_CLASSES

Displays the contents of requested classes.

SHOW STATUS

Shows information about the manager operating for a specific node, all nodes in an OpenVMS Cluster, or remote nodes of a network.
